Recent surveys on student and faculty use of generative artificial intelligence show that students have a consistently higher adoption rate even though faculty acknowledge the importance of student development of GenAI skillsets and that students recommend policy development on appropriate GenAI use. 

Ohio University undergraduate students representing various disciplines and years join this panel to share their perspectives on and current use of generative artificial intelligence in teaching and learning and what they have experienced in our classrooms.

The session is designed for and open to all instructors, teaching and teaching support staff, and graduate student instructors.

During and following the session, participants will:

• Compare OHIO student use of GenAI with national trends.
• Consider their own use of GenAI in teaching and learning given student perspectives.
• Request student feedback on GenAI policies and course enhancements.

The panel will be synchronous via  Teams  from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, July 1. It is part of a CTLA GenAI and Teaching and Learning summer panel and workshop series that is integrated into the Summer 2024 AI-enhanced Course Redesign Institute pilot.
