About the Presenter: 

Jennifer L. Middleton, MD, MPH, FAAFP (she/her/hers) is currently the co-Program Director for Faculty Development at OhioHealth and an Associate Program Director with the OhioHealth Riverside Family Medicine Residency Program. She completed her residency training at UPMC St. Margaret Family Medicine Residency Program in Pittsburgh, PA, followed by the University of Pittsburgh’s 2-year, full time Faculty Development Fellowship along with a Master’s Degree in Public Health. 

As OhioHealth’s sole Director of Faculty Development from 2019 through July 2024, and now as co-Program Director, Dr. Middleton provides ongoing support and facilitates programming for the teachers of OhioHealth’s residency and fellowship programs. Working with experts in CME, learning, audio-visual support across OhioHealth, she developed the “MedTeach” monthly webinars and resources, including a Graduate Medicine Education reference library, curricular materials, and one-pager “QuickSheets” on high-yield faculty development topics. Within the Riverside Family Medicine Residency Program, she cares for her own panel of patients, supervises residents in multiple care settings, and assists with the longitudinal Scholarly Activity and Population Health curriculum. She has published original research and essays in multiple peer-reviewed journals and has presented nationally on a wide variety of faculty development topics. From 2013-2024, she was an editor at American Family Physician, and she continues to peer review for journals.

As of August 2024, Dr. Middleton has also begun working toward a Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Bexley, Ohio. After graduation, she hopes to integrate her medical and theological skills into teaching and service.
