About:
Flannery Rokeby-Jackson, of the Columbus Refugee and Immigration Services (CRIS), will talk about the challenges refugees and immigrants face in Central Ohio, the contributions they make to our communities, and the ways in which we can support them.
About Flannery Rokeby-Jackson:
Flannery Rokeby-Jackson has worked with CRIS as the Volunteer Coordinator since September of 2020, and she has worked with refugees in different capacities for the past 6 years. She majored in Arabic and Economics at Davidson College in North Carolina where she studied abroad in Jordan and Morocco. She started working with refugees while out of the country, and she co-founded a Refugee Support Organization on Campus once she returned. Since then, she has always wanted to work to support refugees full-time, and she loves being able to connect community members to this important work in her role as volunteer coordinator.
About CRIS:
CRIS's mission is to help refugees and immigrants reach safety and stability, sustain self-sufficiency, and achieve successful integration into the Central Ohio community. Flannery Rokebay-Jackson works with community members who are interested in supporting CRIS's mission to connect people to a wide array of programs.
