Join EBN Cincinnati/Dayton at the Cincinnati Art Museum on August 30 during the museum's Art After Dark public event!

The event features music, performances, and free admission to the museum and all exhibits, including the groundbreaking exhibition "The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century." In the wake of hip hop's 50th anniversary, the exhibition explores the genre's extraordinary influence on contemporary society over the past two decades through more than 90 works of art and fashion. As a bonus treat, alumni and friends are invited to hear Dr. Jason Rawls, the project's curator and an Ohio University alumnus, discuss the exhibit via Zoom. Dr. Rawls is known for his music production work with artists like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Aloe Blacc, and for having helped develop at Ohio University the first hip-hop based education program in a college of education.

Guests should meet at the second-floor exhibit entrance in areas 222 and 223 to sign in by 5:30 p.m. View the  museum map . Participants should be prepared to have earbuds and Zoom capability on their devices in order to hear Dr. Rawls, now an Assistant Professor at Ohio State University in the Department of African American and African Studies and the School of Music. Following the brief presentation, attendees may tour any of the exhibits and enjoy the entertainment. A cash bar and food will be available for purchase.

Please register to receive the Zoom link to hear Dr. Rawls and to learn about EBN Cincinnati/Dayton. Ohio University and/or green and white attire are encouraged to spot and bond with fellow alumni. Arrive early to access the limited free museum parking lots.

Even if you are unable to attend the event in person at the Art Museum, you are welcome to register and attend the brief Zoom presentation.
