The second of three programs in a series about reproductive health is a discussion on the past, present, and future of reproductive rights from a political perspective on Thursday, Nov. 3, from noon-1 p.m. in the Women’s Center (403 Baker).

The panel will be led by Dr. Julie White , Professor of Political Science. She will discuss how state control of access to reproductive healthcare is driven by broader political and demographic imperatives. The conversation will invite consideration of the ways the Dobbs decision can be understood in relation to a pronatalist politics, and the anxieties nurtured by “replacement” theories. There will also be two undergraduate students discussing how they see Dobbs and other aspects of women’s reproductive health from a political lens.

Dasia Dewberry and Larissa Strong will discuss how their different student organizations are getting involved and how others can, too.
