About the interns:
Ewurabena Edufua Krampah will share about her internship with the Social Enterprise Ecosystem Appalachia. Ewurabena’s internship involved working in teams conducting online and field research on several projects, using specific programs and software to collect data to enable organizations to make a social impact.
Lyda Ngin will detail her experience interning at Sinh LLC, where her primary tasks included managing an e-commerce project, promoting company branding, improving internal communication, maintaining social media channels, consulting on business marketing strategy, and employing corporate social responsibility.
Kofi Baah-Gyimah interned with Dr. Jacob White, Voinovich School senior executive-in-residence, and his research was focused on assessing the lack of household internet and its correlation with lower student participation in virtual science fairs in Ohio. The project is helping to better understand STEM education and its relevance for education in the US and the world.
Katlyn Perani will discuss her internship with the Village of Somerset where she managed the Perry County Farmers Market. In her time with the village, she developed professional relationships with regional organizations, created a budgeting system, and assisted with the grant implementation process. Her internship also included social media marketing and working with the public to provide fresh local produce to a town that does not otherwise have sufficient access.
Habiba Abdelaal interned with the Athens Humane Society, where she was involved in day-to-day operations working with volunteers, foster families, and animal adopters. Habiba learned to develop and manage a database for donors, volunteers, and adopters and helped improve the organization’s website and marketing plan.
James Burt will discuss his virtual internship experience with both Jackson County Economic Development and Meigs County Economic Development. James completed marketing research for a proposed industrial site in Meigs County, administrative assistance for economic development sites in Jackson County, and aided Jackson County in successfully completing a mock-site visit.
