While it has been almost three years since COVID’s initial disruption of education, it is clear the pandemic continues to impact student preparation, engagement skillsets and classroom expectations. This workshop brings together faculty and instructional staff for the opportunity to share what they are seeing in their classes and hear about challenges from student-facing staff and our students themselves. Finally, participants will have time to plan how they might adjust instructional practice to accommodate the needs and support academic success of disrupted learners.

Learning Outcomes

Following this session, participants will:

  • Review the documented effects of COVID disruption on college students.
  • Gain insight into the types of learning challenges facing OHIO students.
  • Share successful instructional strategies implemented by colleagues during and following COVID.
  • Articulate specific instructional strategies they plan to reinforce, refine or implement to support the academic success of disrupted learners.
