Eduroam is OHIO's preferred Wi-Fi for students, faculty, staff, emeriti, and sponsored guests
. It's fast, secure, and includes free Wi-Fi at hundreds of universities
. If you are using a device that does not support eduroam, view Connect a TV, game console, etc.
for connection instructions.
Windows Laptop/Computer: Connect to-Wi-Fi

In the bottom menu, select the network icon.

Select the eduroamnetwork.

Enter your full OHIOID@ohio.edu
email address and OHIO password to connect.
iPhone/iPad/Mac: Connect to Wi-Fi
- Navigate to your settings.

Select Wi-Fiand choose eduroam.

Log in with your full OHIOID@ohio.edu
email address and OHIO password.

If prompted to continue connecting, choose Connect.

If your Mac randomly drops its wireless connection, first make sure you are using eduroam. If installing eduroam and forgetting the OHIO University network does not fix the issue, follow these steps to update your Mac's trust settings

Android Version 10 or Older: Connect to Wi-Fi
Android users should install the eduroam CAT app from Google Play
or the Amazon Appstore
before trying to install the Ohio University eduroam. If you would prefer to install eduroam manually, here are the instructions below to assist you with this process:

Open your device's Settings.

Select Network & internet> Wi-Fi

Select Eduroam.

When prompted, enter the following information:

EAP Method: PEAP
-
Phase 2 Authentication: None or MSCHAPV2

CA Certificate: (unspecified) However, some devices might say "Do not validate." Both options would be correct depending on the android device.

Domain: Leave blank
-
Anonymous ID: Leave blank
Android Version 11 or Newer: Connect to Wi-Fi
Android users should install the eduroam CAT app from Google Play
or the Amazon Appstore
before trying to install the Ohio University eduroam. If you would prefer to install eduroam manually, here are the instructions below to assist you with this process:

Open your device's Settings.

Select Network & internet> Wi-Fi

Select Eduroam.

When prompted, enter the following information:

EAP Method: PEAP

Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2

CA Certificate: Use system certificates

Online Certificate: Do not verify

Domain: ohio.edu

Identity: (your ohio ID) @ohio.edu

Anonymous ID: Leave blank

Password: (your ohio ID password)
Chrome Device (ex: Chromebook): Connect to Wi-Fi

At the bottom right, select the time.

Select Settingsor press Alt + Shift + s.

At the top, in the search bar, type Wi-Fi.

Select Wi-Fiand choose eduroam.

Enter your full OHIOID@ohio.edu
email address and OHIO password to connect.

If prompted to continue connecting, choose Connect.
Connecting to eduroam at Other Institutions
If you will be traveling to other participating eduroam schools and institutions, you can install the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool
to make it easier to connect to those schools' Wi-Fi.

before trying to install the Ohio University CAT tool.
Note: OHIO students, faculty, staff, and emeriti are all recommended to use the eduroam Wi-Fi network. You will experience a faster, better, more secure connection that is less likely to drop.
No login is required.

Go to your wireless settings and connect to the OHIO University Guest network.

In the Guests section, accept the terms and conditions.
Connect a TV, Game Console, etc. to Wi-Fi
If you have a device (TV, game console, smart speaker, streaming device, wireless printer, etc.), that does not work with eduroam 802.1x or a captive portal on the guest Wi-Fi network, you will need to register it. Follow the steps below to register your device.
Note: Personal routers are not allowed on our network.
To register a device:

You will need to know your device's WiFi MAC/WLAN MAC address. View Finding your MAC address
for instructions.

Using a computer, phone, tablet, or other browser-equipped device that is already connected to our eduroam Wi-Fi, log into wireless.ohio.edu
.

Follow the prompts to register your device(s). You can register as many devices as you like.

Once you have registered a device, connect it to the Ohio University Guest Wi-Fi. Connection instructions vary be device.
