Description
If you have forgotten or lost your password, or if you have responded to a malicious email
, you should reset your password.
If you know your existing password but are looking to change your password
, you can do so through a different process.
Environment
Any account or device that uses your OHIO account login
Solution
Self-Serve Reset

Visit account.ohio.edu
to reset your password.

Under the Existing Useroption, select Reset Password.

Enter your OHIO email, PID, and Date of Birth, and select Continue.

Choose your preferred verification methodon the next screen by selecting the appropriate button.

Enter the codesent to your preferred recovery method and select Continue.

Enter your new passwordand confirm the new password.

You will receive a confirmation message on the next screen and a confirmation email will be sent to your OHIO email.
Outcome: Your password has been reset and you should now have access to your account.
Alternate Way to Reset Your Password
If you are unable to reset your password using the self-serve reset, you can reset your password by following the steps below.

If you are unable to travel to one of the above locations, please contact the IT Service Desk
to discuss alternate methods of verifying your identity.

Faculty and staff:If your department has a technician assigned to it, that individual can also reset your password for you.
