WGSS students are strongly encouraged to gain career-related experience prior to graduation by pursuing WGSS internship credit. WGSS 3910 Internship focuses on applying and evaluating ideas learned in WGSS courses to the "real world" experience of women's organization and feminist practice. The seminar and supervised job placement are designed to help students make a successful transition into the competitive work world by testing personal strengths, clarifying preferences, and sharing reflections on work experiences with the instructor and other students. The internship opportunity is available year-round.
The Ohio University Women's Center is a great resource for finding career-related opportunities (and much more!).
Recent WGSS internship sites included Passion Works and the Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery.
