State transportation agencies are required to implement best management practices (BMPs) that reduce pollution from stormwater runoff on linear transportation systems. ORITE maintains a fully equipped water quality laboratory that is can detect various pollutants in water specimens collected from streams, drainage structures, or off highways. Testing capabilities include turbidity, total suspended solids, oil and grease, chlorides, and a range of metals.
