Thesis Projects, Research and Grant Opportunities
Opportunities for undergraduate research and independent work are available across the College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio University. Students are encouraged to explore these opportunities with their advisers and to visit department websites for more information. Many options exist for both credit/non-credit and paid/non-paid work.
- Departmental Honors are available in many majors and include thesis projects with faculty advisers.
- Students present at department undergraduate research conferences and at an annual campus-wide " Student Research and Creative Activity Expo " held each spring.
- Grasselli Undergraduate Research Awards are available in the College of Arts & Sciences.
In some cases, undergraduate students are supported as part of both internally and externally sponsored research grants awarded to a faculty member. Some projects may be linked through study abroad and/or fieldwork. Application processes vary depending on the grant opportunities, undergraduate hours completed, and major.
