Dr. Ruth Lu plays a key role in overseeing the thesis and dissertation processes at the Graduate College. Having recently been an international graduate student herself, Lu is constantly on the lookout for effective ways to engage graduate students in their writing endeavors, demystify cumbersome procedures with clear guidelines, and facilitate their academic success and degree completion at Ohio University.
Ruth holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Educational Studies, an M.A. in Workforce Development and Education, and a B.A. in Strategic Communication, all from The Ohio State University. Originally from Jiangsu Province, China, Ruth gained valuable experience while participating in a year-long high school cultural exchange program in Circleville, Ohio.
With a passion for sharing knowledge and expertise, Ruth has contributed to the field through her publication with Routledge: " Strategies and Responsibilities of Expanding International Education Partnerships during COVID-19 ." Her expertise in qualitative research, internationalizing university efforts, and her grasp of East Asian tea culture have led to engaging teaching and speaking opportunities.
