Dr. Roycroft joined the McClure School faculty in 1994. Following a hiatus from 2005 to 2012, Dr. Roycroft rejoined the faulty in 2013. Dr. Roycroft’s teaching and research focuses on policy, regulation, privacy, and economics associated with information and telecommunication technology. He currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on privacy and on business strategy. Dr. Roycroft has published articles and white papers relating to policy issues in the field. Dr. Roycroft has served on School, College, and University committees during his time at Ohio University. He currently serves on the Scripps College of Communication’s Diversity Committee and Curriculum Committee.
Dr. Roycroft also has over thirty years of experience providing expert analysis and testimony. He has filed testimony, reports, and affidavits in over one hundred proceedings before state regulatory commissions, before the Federal Communications Commission, and before the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission.
Dr. Roycroft earned the PhD in economics from the University of California, Davis.
