Jessica Arquette, MS, RDN, CSSD, LD
Arquette is a registered and licensed dietitian with a board certification in Sports Dietetics. Arquette teaches Nutrition 1000, Sports Nutrition, Diabetes, and Nutrient Metabolism at Ohio University. In Athletics, she conducts one on ones with athletes, assisting them with performance nutrition needs and medical nutrition therapy in cases of illness or injury. Arquette also provides team talks and team activities such as grocery store tours, dining hall tours, Taste Tuesdays, and cooking/nutrition trivia nights.
Christina (Wright) Mehlon , MBA, MSA
Mehlon (she/her/hers) is an associate professor of instruction (Sports Administration), Assistant Director of Industry and Alumni Engagement of the AECOM Center for Sports Administration, DSA Career Coach, COSMA Director & Assessment Coordinator for Undergraduate Programs, and Multicultural Faculty-in-Residence in the College of Business. As an instructional practitioner, Mehlon teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate sports business courses focused on facility and event management and diversity, equity, and inclusion in sport, both in-person and online.
Jim Strode, Ph.D.
Strode, Ph.D., is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and O’Bleness Associate Professor at Ohio University's College of Business. As associate dean, Strode leads the undergraduate degree programs, manages college-level curriculum processes, manages signature undergraduate programs, oversees the Academic Advising and Career Services, and collaborates to recruit, retain, and place undergraduate Business Bobcats.
Kitty Consolo, Ph.D.
Consolo spends her days teaching health, fitness, wellness, and exercise science classes at Ohio University’s Zanesville campus. She also competed in the 1990 Senior Olympics, running the 10,000 meter event. Amazingly, she did so after being severely injured in a bad fall and needing physical therapy.
Dustin Grooms, Ph.D.
Dr. Dustin Grooms specializes in neuroplasticity and biomechanics with a focus on how a person’s brain changes after a muscular skeletal injury, such as an ACL injury. In particular, he looks at the impact of athletic injuries and orthopedics on the brain.
One of Grooms’ projects is a concussion program that studies how the brain changes after a concussion, using brain imaging and a virtual reality screen to challenge concussion victims. The technology is more sensitive to detect if a person has errors of senses in a concussed state.
Ian Klein, M.S.
As a specialist in exercise physiology, cross-training, and injury prevention, Klein’s main research focus is to better understand how to prevent injuries, maximize athletic performance, and create better rehabilitation methods. His current work is investigating the efficacy and physiological components of the running-specific cross-training machine called the ElliptiGO (elliptiGO.com).
