Student & Community Impact

  • Centers of Excellence join forces for professional clothing drive

The College of Business Centers of Excellence recently led a combined effort to encourage faculty, staff, and students to clean out their closets and donate any lightly used and in-season professional clothing to the Career Closet.

  • Using Accounting to Better Society

When most people think of accountants they think measuring financial impact, but recently their skills are also being applied to sustainability—measuring environmental impact, social impact, emissions, employee well-being, energy usage and more.

  • Annual Eco Impact Challenge

The Eco Impact Challenge is a semester-long, cross-disciplinary, team-based leadership experiential simulation focused on sustainability. In teams of five to seven, students work on a real-world sustainability issue on the Athens campus or surrounding community by envisioning a solution to a problem, working with community stakeholders, and presenting a business pitch for their solution.
