Dr. Martin Oulu is a transdisciplinary scholar and agroecology advocate at the University of Nairobi, with adjunct roles that emphasize climate resilience and multi-level governance. His research and consultancy work bridges political ecology with theory-policy-practice initiatives, advancing food systems analysis and transformation. 

Dr. Oulu founded and coordinates the Inter-Sectoral Forum on Agrobiodiversity and Agroecology (ISFAA) in Kenya, spearheading the development of the National Agroecology Strategy for Food Systems Transformation (NAS-FST) and co-leading several CGIAR research projects. Over the last one and a-half years, Dr. Oulu has been serving as the Agroecology Adviser for GIZ in Kenya. He is a member of several African research initiatives on the future of food systems. 

Dr. Oulu’s work is distinguished by his commitment to translating theory into practice through co-creation of sustainable food system pathways and training future agroecological leaders.
