Safety Data Sheets (SDS) can be obtained by accessing the Chemwatch system . This is an extensive listing of chemical information and various other tools for the classroom and laboratory. The route to obtain SDSs are as follows:
- Review the material safety data sheet online before ordering materials to ensure the proper engineering controls are available for the intended use. Example: perchloric acid must be used in a specifically designed fume hood. Extremely toxic chemicals may require special handliing devices. Once it has been determined the material can be properly handled and stored request the SDS be shipped with the product at the time of ordering.
