"Dr. Corinne Nielsen:
I met Dr. Nielsen my freshman year, as my EAP advisor and first semester tutor. We met our first week of classes when I couldn't find her office and she had to come find me in a completely different building. I quickly learned how kind and lovely Dr. Nielsen is.
The second tutorial I was able to choose, I decided to do it with Dr. Nielsen. I can confidently say that this was the first tutorial where I was able to truly see the impact of the tutorial style education. I arguably spent more time preparing for my tutorial than I did my coursework. This wasn't necessarily because the topic of the neurovascular system in mice was particularly fascinating to me, but rather because Dr. Nielsen went above and beyond to make sure that I understood every part of what we were doing both in lab and with the papers we were reading. Dr. Nielsen is so passionate about what she does that it inspired me to be just as passionate about biology and neuroscience. She explains intricate topics in molecular biology so creatively in a way that everyone can understand, regardless of learning style.
Dr. Nielsen was subjected to just about every career change/plan/thought I had throughout my four years. She was always very supportive and really encouraged me to find the path that is best for me. She never pressured me to go a certain way and even gave me options that I should look into. It is very rare to find someone that advocates for you the way Dr. Nielsen does, and I will forever be so grateful."

"I would like to thank my Director of Studies, Dr. Hurley and my thesis advisor, Dr. Holcomb. These two have been instrumental in not only my career as an undergraduate student, but my final thesis project. They both pushed me to create a thesis that aligned not only with my literary interests, but a thesis that allowed me to explore myself as a future academic. I could say thank you a million times and it would not be enough."

"I would like to recognize Dr. Jana Houser for her role as a mentor and advisor during my four years at Ohio University. Despite her departure from Ohio University in 2022, Dr. Houser continued to tirelessly and brilliantly advise my developing Honors Tutorial College Thesis, as well as granting me invaluable experience in the field of Mesoscale Meteorology through storm chasing trips and severe storm conferences. Without Dr. Jana Houser, I would not have been able to develop into the meteorologist, student, and person that I am today."
