On-Campus Housing
All first- and second-year undergraduate students are required to live in Ohio University's on-campus housing. There are many residence halls — often referred to as "dorms" — on OHIO's Athens campus. Residence halls are located within close proximity of classroom buildings, dining halls and other campus amenities.
OHIO's residence halls are furnished with basic amenities, including a bed, desk, chair and closet. Students share rooms, bathrooms and public spaces in residence halls. Most dorms are co-ed, meaning that people of all genders live in the same building.
Off-Campus Housing
Undergraduate students in their third year or beyond and graduate students may choose to live in off-campus housing. There are many housing options near campus that are not operated by Ohio University. From single family homes, to homes with several rooms for which students share other house amenities, to apartments of all types, you'll be able to find something that suits your lifestyle.
If you plan to live off campus, it's best to begin looking for housing before you arrive in Athens.
