Program Overview
The Military Science minor is designed to academically recognize fully participating cadets that pass through the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) at Ohio University to become US Army officers. Cadets take part in off-site summer training events and the most comprehensive peer leadership experience on campus in addition to passage through a rigorous traditional academic program to earn this academic accomplishment and a commission.

Freshman/First-Year Admission
In addition to University admission requirements, there are extensive federal guidelines for commissioning through ROTC. These guidelines must be met to complete many of the minor program courses.

Opportunities Upon Graduation
All graduates of the ROTC program are guaranteed employment with the active or reserve components of the US Army upon graduation. Additionally, the leadership qualities symbolized by the Military Science minor will prove a strong advantage in seeking management positions.
