Do you have a colleague at the Heritage College that you’d like to recognize in an area of teaching excellence? Topic areas include inclusion, engagement, subject expertise, pedagogical expertise, outcomes, improvement, and innovation. If so, please complete and submit a nomination form .

Ohio University

Tenured Faculty

The Distinguished Professor Award | Ohio University is the highest permanent recognition attainable by faculty at Ohio University. Eligibility criteria include attainment of tenure and at least five years of service to the university. Nominations are solicited each fall from all current Ohio University faculty. The deadline for nominations is February 15.

The Presidential Teacher Award | Ohio University is awarded to full-time, tenured faculty based on excellence in teaching and meritorious academic pursuits both inside and outside the classroom. Nominations are solicited each fall from Ohio University faculty, alumni, and students with a deadline for submission of September 30.

Tenure-Track, Instructional and Clinical Faculty

The University Professor Award | Ohio University recognizes outstanding teaching at the university as nominated by students. Nominees must be full-time tenure-track, instructional, or clinical faculty. Nominations for the University Professor Award are due on November 14.

Tenure-Track and Instructional Faculty

The MAC Outstanding Faculty Award | Ohio University for student success recognizes full-time tenure track and instructional faculty who are engaged with students and demonstrate commitment to student success and inclusion. Eligible faculty members must apply by December 9.

Instructional Faculty

The Provost's Award for Excellence in Teaching | Ohio University is awarded to full-time, instructional, non-tenure track faculty based on excellence in teaching and meritorious academic pursuits both inside and outside the classroom. Nominations are solicited each fall from Ohio University students, alumni, and faculty with a deadline for submission of September 30.

Tenure-Track Probationary Faculty

The Chairs and Directors Emerging Leadership Award | Ohio University recognizes outstanding full-time, probationary, tenure-   track faculty members who have demonstrated exceptional leadership attributes. Eligible faculty members must be in their third, fourth, or fifth year with Ohio University at the time of nomination. Nominations are solicited from current chairs and directors and are due by February 15.

Research Intensive Faculty

The Presidential Research Scholars | Ohio University awards program recognizes faculty members who have garnered national and international prominence in research, scholarship, and creative activity. Applications are solicited annually but in rotating cycles between three clusters of disciplines. For FY 2024-25 applications will be solicited for Arts and Humanities and Life and Biomedical Sciences. Nominations are typically due on or around April 20 followed by an application deadline on or around June 15.
