The Diabetes Institute provides diabetes education and prevention programs to individuals with or at risk for diabetes with a focus on improving access to these services. These programs provide ongoing support and equip people with tools they need to prevent or manage diabetes.

Diabetes Cat Camp

We offer the only Type 1 Diabetes Camp in Southeastern Ohio so that children and adolescents living with Type 1 Diabetes can connect with peers, learn important diabetes management skills, and have a lot of fun! Your child will grow their confidence in managing their diabetes and in themselves.

  • Diabetes Navigation

    Our diabetes nurse navigator works with youth and adult clients who have type 1 or type 2 diabetes to help overcome health system barriers by offering individualized, patient-centered care coordination, social support, and assistance to clients and families.  

  • Peer Support

    Special events are held to help build peer support and connection among youth reached by the diabetes navigator and our diabetes camp. These in-person opportunities help to reinforce these connections throughout the year.  

Our team includes a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and Registered Nurses who possesses comprehensive knowledge and experience in diabetes management, prediabetes, and diabetes prevention.
