Kennedy Museum of Art is committed to accessibility, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring equal opportunity and access for all visitors.

Accessible Parking and Entrance

There are three accessible parking spaces located within lot 200 across the street from the museum entrance. The museum has an accessible entrance on the West side of the building that is equipped with a power assist door and an interior lift. All public areas of the museum are wheelchair accessible. Persons using mobility devices like motorized wheelchairs are welcome.

The following public transportation services travel to The Ridges and make stops in front of the Kennedy Museum of Art. All OHIO and City of Athens transit vehicles are accessible.

Inside the Museum

Glass doors

Front Desk Staff

KMA front desk staff are happy to assist onsite with any accommodations or assistance needed.

Interior Glass Doors, First Floor

The first floor has two sets of power assist glass doors.

Wheelchairs, Stools, and Strollers

A wheelchair is available at the accessible side entrance and gallery stools are available onsite available at the exhibit entrances at the first floor to be used at any time. Strollers are welcome.

Elevator

An elevator that is wheelchair accessible operates between the first and second floors of the Museum.

Restrooms

The restrooms are located on the first floor and have accessible stalls but no power assist doors.

Galleries

Printed exhibition labels and interactive kiosks follow general ADA guidelines. Large print materials are available in select exhibitions. Please contact us 10 days in advance of your visit if you seek alternate formats like Braille.

American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation

ASL interpretation can be scheduled for any museum tour, program, or event with 10-day advance notice.
