We have officially reached winter intersession and things are really quiet on the OHIO campus but there are few highlight-worthy items in the official Calendar of University Events (CUE) . But first, please let me give one more congratulations to our fall graduates! Make us proud Bobcats!
Here's a quick rundown of what's happening during the intersession period:
Office of Emergency Programs: Campus TableTop Exercise (Tuesday, Dec. 19, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Baker University Center 240-242): You can never be too prepared for an emergency so I hope you registered for this training that will simulate an emergency situation impacting the Athens Campus and how participants' offices will respond. If you have any questions, please reach out Bev Wyatt at wyatt@ohio.edu .
Search Committee Training: Module 1 (Tuesday, Dec. 19, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., HRTC): This FREE training is available to all OHIO employees and focuses on establishing a search committee, writing inclusive job descriptions and creating inclusive recruiting plans. It is the first in a two-part series - Module 2 will be offered Wednesday, Dec. 20 - and registration is required for both.
OHIO Men's Basketball vs. Prairie View (Wednesday, Dec. 20, 7 p.m., Convocation Center): It's always exciting to cheer on the Bobcats, but this game is special because OHIO Athletics is offering a holiday gift to faculty and staff: four (4) free tickets! Winter Break Closure (Dec. 25, 2017 through Jan. 1, 2018, All campuses and centers): Ohio University's Winter Closure Plan (WCP) calls for closure of the University from December 25th through January 1st each year. All OHIO offices will be closed, including Alden Library and the Ping Center, both of which will be closed Dec. 23, 2017 through Jan. 1, 2018.
