Ohio University’s annual International Week celebration will be held April 1-8, with the International Street Fair taking place on Saturday, April 7.
This year’s International Week is focused on the theme, “Unity Through Diversity,” and will feature a wide range of events for students, faculty, staff and area residents.
One of the biggest events each year is the International Street Fair, which has become a popular attraction for the campus and the community. The Street Fair features food booths, cultural activities, music, dancing, speeches and activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
This year’s International Street Fair will have a slightly different location, as it will be held on East Union Street between Court Street and University Terrace. The main stage will be located at the Howard Park site at the corner of College Street and East Union Street.
The International Street Fair will begin at 11 a.m. with opening remarks and the annual parade of flags. The Street Fair will continue until 5 p.m.
Additional International Week events will include:

The International Student Union’s World Cup Soccer Tournament in Walter Fieldhouse on Sunday, April 1 and Sunday, April 8.

The flags representing the countries of OHIO’s international students will be placed on the College Green on Monday, April 2, and then again on Saturday, April 7 for the International Street Fair.

Also on Monday, the International Week Gallery Show will open at 7 p.m., in The Front Room in the Baker University Center. The show will feature paintings and photography from OHIO students.

Tuesday’s activities will include the always-popular Global Scoop event, the free screening of the award-winning film, “A Fantastic Woman,” at the Athena Cinema at 7:00 p.m. (with a post-show discussion), and a Vegan Night event with UCM.

On Wednesday, the events will include a Tea Tasting and the Take Back The Night Keynote Speech at 7:30 p.m. in Walter Rotunda.

Thursday’s activities will include the Diversity Abroad Panel at 1:30 p.m. in Baker University Center 231. This event will feature Bobcats who have traveled domestically and internationally through OHIO study away programs, exchanges and outside affiliate programs. Additional events on Thursday include the International Trivia Night at 6:00 p.m. in Alden 319 and the Take Back The Night March .

Friday will feature the Coffee and Living Abroad Discussions at 4:00 p.m. at the Third Floor Atrium in the Baker University Center, and the World Music and Dance Festival Diversity Concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.
