- Print a temporary permit to display while their permanent permit is in transit
- Select to have their permit delivered via mail (typically within seven business days)
Renewal Options & Instructions

This includes permits that begin with “16DG” or “17DG,” and all Priority Permits (Note: Baker University Center and Jefferson Hall parking permits will also be renewed online this year; however, this process will begin at a later date).
- Step-by-step video instructions for online renewal are available via YouTube. Instructions regarding the renewal process begin at the 2:38 mark of the video.
- Written instructions in PDF format are also available online.
In-Office Renewal to remain available through Summer 2018
Transportation and Parking Services will continue to assist customers who wish to renew in person through the summer of 2018. However, all faculty and staff will be required to renew their permit online beginning Summer 2019.
The Transportation and Parking Services team will be happy to assist OHIO employees with their permit renewal needs during this transition period.
Please note:Those who choose to renew their parking permit in person will need to bring their current permit for exchange and a photo ID.
Additional parking permit renewal tips and information
- Customers renewing online must remove their former permit and place their temporary permit on their dashboard. Upon receipt of their new permit in the mail, they must remove their temporary permit from their dashboard and hang their new permit from their rearview mirror. Failure to follow these steps may result in a citation for permit not displayed or displaying an expired permit.
- Please confirm your vehicle information upon renewal and refrain from recalling your license plate number from memory. Doing so may result in a vehicle being incorrectly matched. Customers often find it convenient to snap a photo of their license plate to ensure the plate is properly registered.
- Please renew your permit prior to July 31, 2018 to avoid displaying an expired permit. Customers who choose to visit the office for permit renewal should visit in early July to avoid the potential for waiting in long lines.
- Computer Kiosk stations are available in OHIO’s Parking Office and the Visitors Center on Richland Avenue. Additionally, employees may use the computers within Alden Library as an online resource after the Transportation and Parking office is closed.
- Permit renewal is necessary to control the number of lost or stolen permits used by unauthorized individuals as well as to protect your parking privileges.
