Join fellow Bobcats for a good cause and good fun on the links at the OHIO Alumni Association’s Central Ohio Alumni Chapter Ninth Annual Golf Outing at the Oakhurst Country Club in Grove City, Ohio, on July 28.
The event will kick off with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. and run until 8:30 p.m. A dinner and reception, including raffle prizes and awards, will close out the evening.
All proceeds will go toward the Central Ohio Alumni Chapter’s Endowed Scholarship, an annual scholarship that provides $1,000 to four incoming first-year Bobcats from Central Ohio.
“The event is geared toward providing fundraising for the scholarship that the Central Ohio Chapter awards every year,” Association Assistant Director of External Relations Tyler Gagai said. “The opportunity to impact a student’s life and pull them into attending OHIO is something that our alumni throughout Columbus are very passionate about.”
Since it was established in 1994, the scholarship has awarded $24,000 in financial assistance, helping two dozen OHIO students. Students granted the scholarship must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and progress toward graduation in four years.
“Alumni should consider participating or sponsoring the event because the opportunity to have a positive impact on a student’s experience attending OHIO is a big deal,” Gagai said. “It’s also important for our alumni throughout the Columbus region to attend chapter events so they remain connected to the University.”
Registration is $75 and includes dinner, a cart, a goody bag and a round of golf. Attendees can also add the “All Access Pass” to their registration to receive mulligans, raffle tickets, and other bonuses.
The golf outing is limited to 18 foursomes, and partial foursomes will be paired with other alumni. Attendees of all golf experience levels are welcomed to participate.
