The Ohio University College of Health Sciences and Professions (CHSP) is creating, and participating in, numerous initiatives to assist fellow healthcare professionals and the nation in the collective fight against COVID-19.
As medical professionals on the front lines of the nationwide COVID-19 crisis face shortages of vital protective gear, such as disposable masks, gloves and gowns, the Physician Assistant program gathered supplies and made a donation that will provide important equipment to healthcare workers and first responders within the OhioHealth network.
The materials, including boxes of gloves, masks, gowns, hand sanitizer and hand soap, were donated earlier this week.
“Being in healthcare and knowing the urgent need for PPEs across Ohio and the country, we wanted to give back to our clinical partners as much as we could,” said Melissa Bowlby, director of CHSP’s Physician Assistant program.
