A public reception to honor Joe Shields, vice president for research and creative activity and dean of the Graduate College, will be held on Thursday, May 26, from 4 – 6 p.m. in the Baker University Center.
The reception, which will be hosted by the Research Division and the Graduate College, will be held in Baker 240-242. All members of the University community are invited to attend.
Shields, who first joined the University as an assistant professor of physics and astronomy in the College of Arts and Sciences in 1996, has announced that he will be stepping down from his current role effective June 12, 2022. He has served as vice president for research and creative activity and dean of the Graduate College since 2011.
