Bobcat Parents & Families,

At OHIO, we believe all students deserve access to the support and resources they need to succeed during college. We have found that some students are only one financial crisis away from dropping out of school. Fortunately, the  Student Emergency Fund  exists to help students cover safety needs, emergency medical bills, rent, utilities, and/or groceries during personal crises.

By  donating  you can help a student with an immediate financial need. Throughout 2022, 525 OHIO students facing financial difficulty turned to the fund to ease their hardships. This semester our emergency fund balance is the lowest it has been since before the pandemic, yet our application submission rate increased dramatically in the fall and that trend has continued into this semester, indicating that OHIO students’ needs are growing.

This program has given hope to those students so they can focus on their education and attain their dream of a college degree. If you or someone you know is in a position to give, all donations are deeply appreciated.

Make the most out of an Athens winter

How you spend your winter is up to you, but here are a few ideas to get your wheels turning! Give back to the community by donating to  My Sister's Place  or finding  volunteer roles . Maybe you're looking for more professional experiences; find  local internships  or  network with alumni .

Just looking to soak up all campus has to offer? With a cold front on the way (sorry to remind you), explore indoorg activities like  open swim ,  ice skating , or  indoor rock climbing !

Find entry-level jobs, internships, and leadership positions in  OHIO food . In addition to a free meal with every shift, pay rates have increased this semester!

Already work in Culinary? Refer two friends to become employed and receive $25 in Bobcat Cash! If your friends remain employed for at least eight weeks, you'll receive an additional $50 and your referrals will receive $25 in Bobcat Cash.	Work in a market or retail Positions for Campus Markets and retail concepts  (think, Front Room Coffeehouse) are open now.  The newest campus location — Life is Sweet — is now open in Baker. Treat yourself!
