The Department of Mechanical Engineering will host the annual Mechanical Engineering Project Fair, formerly known as Demo Day, on April 15, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m in Stocker Center and the Academic Research Center. All attendees at the fair will be invited to explore student projects, participate in design challenges and enjoy lunch, available first come, first serve. Students, faculty, staff and community members are all welcome to attend.
During the Project Fair, mechanical engineering senior design students will present the projects they have been working on throughout the semester. Students work in teams and collaborate with local stakeholders to design solutions to real world problems. This year, students are working with local farmers, nonprofits and businesses to design to make a difference.
The general public is invited to explore the presentations, including a garlic heat sorter, an interactive robotics display, a sidecar project and more. Additionally, attendees are invited to participate in hands-on design challenges including a mouse trap car challenge, a material properties estimation challenge and many more. Mechanical engineering student organizations, the ASME Battlecats and the SAE Baja teams, will also be on site. Pizza will be provided for all attendees. This event is sponsored by Actalent.
