As Cybersecurity Awareness Month concludes, don’t forget that OHIO students, faculty, and staff can test their cybersecurity knowledge and help us beat Miami University by competing in CyberMania. Just complete the survey and be entered to win a prize pack from OHIO's Information Security Office. The final deadline for all submissions to CyberMania is Oct. 26.
Please also make sure to complete the Online IT Security training , if you have not done so already. University departments that have the highest rate of completion at the end of October will be recognized as Cybersecurity Champions and the winning department will receive a cookie party courtesy of the Information Security Office.
To conclude Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) would like to remind all OHIO students, faculty and staff to ensure their software is up to date on both their personal and University devices.
Your personal information and data are valuable. As the world grows evermore connected via the internet, cybercriminals have greater opportunities to inappropriately access your data. If your valuable data ends up in the hands of a criminal, the information can be used to cause financial, personal, and legal harm to yourself and others. Fortunately, you have the power to reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim of cybercrime by ensuring your software and apps remain updated.
Join OIT in exploring guidance regarding the importance of updating software. Additionally, visit the Secure Workspaces webpage to learn more about securing remote work and learning, keeping your virtual meetings safe, and more.
