Ohio University's Fall 2023 Commencement took place Dec. 16 on the Athens campus. Here's a glimpse into the day's events and the remarkable achievements of our graduates.

Approximately 1,100 students, both undergraduate and graduate, marked a significant milestone in their academic journeys at Ohio University’s 2023 Fall commencement ceremony on Dec. 16 at the Convocation Center.
President Lori Stewart Gonzalez opened the event, congratulating the graduates for their hard work, sacrifice and success.
“Wherever your journey takes you, I hope that you keep exploring, keep learning, keep growing, and all the while, keep Ohio University in your hearts,” she said. “You will always be a Bobcat and Ohio University will forever welcome you back – it is your home.”
The two-hour ceremony was not only a celebration of academic accomplishment but also a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students.
Associate Professor Josh Antonuccio, director of OHIO’s School of Media Arts and Studies, delivered the Fall Commencement address. He encouraged graduates to use their OHIO experience as a launchpad for fulfilling their potential.
“Your job is to identify and continually invest into your uniqueness – whatever that might be,” he said. “In doing so, it will open a world of possibilities for you.”
