Keeping Bobcats Informed, March 20, 2024

Bobcat Families,

Whether you got a chance to spend time with your student during spring break or they took an adventure of their own, I hope they are returning relaxed and recharged to finish this semester strong. These last weeks are still packed with plenty of opportunities. Read on for important reminders about Commencement , upcoming events, career support and community volunteer opportunities.

I hope to see many of you around campus April 5-7 for Moms Weekend ! There are a variety of events planned from tea with the president , to the International Street Fair , to a Mamma Mia viewing at the Athena Cinema. Make your plans for the weekend now!

The beginning of spring also brings nicer weather and more activity off campus as Fest Season begins this weekend. Students have been reminded of our Student Code of Conduct and our responsibility to uphold a culture of respect. Bobcats support each other, and if our students see a situation that needs addressed, we encourage them to step in if they can. There are plenty of resources to help us all Make Respect Visible to our Bobcats and our Athens community.

Out with the old, in with the new

The University is transitioning from Blackboard to Canvas as OHIO’s preferred learning management system this fall. Canvas is an intuitive system with 24/7 support and has received positive feedback from students with early access to the platform. More information will be shared soon, but if students have questions now, they can talk to their advisor during their registration appointment or check out the Canvas Resources webpage.
