Every year, Ohio University’s Child Development Center (CDC) holds its Garden Party, an event that highlights the center’s deep connection to nature, food production and community building. What began as a simple gathering has grown into a cherished tradition where children showcase their learning and creativity, with families coming together to share in the joy of the garden’s harvest.
This year’s celebration marked the dedication of the Lisa Donovan Memorial Playground. Lisa Donovan, a former teacher at the CDC, left an indelible mark on the lives of countless children. Thanks to a generous donation from her husband, John DiVincenzo, the new playground is a living memorial that reflects her belief in the power of outdoor learning and play. As families gathered to enjoy food prepared by the children, the event became a reflection of both the CDC’s past and its bright future.
