Volunteers needed to help with Welcome Week activities

Ohio University is looking for volunteers from the University community to assist with several upcoming Welcome Week events.

Welcome Week will take place from Aug. 22 – Sept. 1, 2024, and will welcome new students to Ohio University through a series of events.

The Ohio University Welcome Week Committee and the Division of Student Affair are asking faculty and staff who are available to consider volunteering to assist with any of these events.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the following events and activities: 

Bobcat Move-In Crew

Help new students and their family members as the students find where to park, locate their residence halls and get moved in. Volunteers are needed to assist at the following dates and times:

• Thursday, Aug. 22, 8:30 - 11:00 a.m.
• Thursday, Aug. 22, 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• Thursday, Aug. 22, 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.
• Friday, Aug. 23, 8:30 - 11:00 a.m.
• Friday, Aug. 23, 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• Friday, Aug. 23, 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Volunteers for these crews are asked to sign up by Aug. 9.

• Friday, Aug. 23, 6:15 - 8:15 p.m.

New Student Convocation

• Sunday, Aug. 25, 1:30 - 4:00 p.m.

Ask a Bobcat Table/Tent

• Monday, Aug. 25, or Tuesday, Aug. 26.  Volunteers will work with Wendy Kalinowski for times based on volunteer’s availability, shifts are 1-2 hours between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
