From time to time, a newsroom or university will invite us to spend an afternoon, a day, or a few days training its staff on digital and social media. Custom Kiplinger training can help a newsroom or organization ramp up skills quickly at a modest cost.
In the past, Kiplinger has taken its specialized training to ABC News headquarters in New York, The Columbus Dispatch, Gannett Corp., Miami Herald, The Tennessean (Nashville) and WOSU-TV (Columbus). Additionally, Kiplinger has provided training or presentations at several college campuses, including Boston University, Georgetown University, Miami University (Ohio), Ohio State University, University of Michigan, and University of Pennsylvania Law School.
In 2014, the Kiplinger Program expanded its reach by accepting an invitation from the U.S. State Department to travel to Sierra Leone in western Africa to train journalists in press rights and ethics. Directed by the U.S. Embassy, the week of training focused on helping the nation’s more than 500 journalists establish better ethical practices and improve their fight against oppressive libel laws that have imprisoned journalists. Since then, Kiplinger has trained journalists in Malta, Ethiopia, Jamacia, Pakistan and Zambia.
