Nick Tipton, an ITS major, stood out while at the McClure School, and he was recently awarded 2023’s outstanding undergrad for his accomplishments. Wanting to set himself apart from a computer science degree, and not interested in math and science, Nick chose to pursue the ITS program.

He has had an academically successful four years in courses with favorites taught by Brandon Saunders, Jim Gay and Doug Bowie. Nick also completed a Project Management certification and hopes to tie that into his future career: network engineering, management and sales.

“Throughout my time in the ITS program, I had the opportunity to learn valuable skills and knowledge from the program's outstanding faculty and professors,” Nick says.

Nick’s academic achievement distinguished the upcoming graduate. Nick’s biggest tip for underclassmen in the McClure School and OU beyond: Don’t be afraid to try new things.
