The Student Veterans Lounge opened in November of 2022. The Vets Lounge is in Baker Center, Suite 363, in proximity to the Veterans and Military Student Services Center (Baker 350) and is a dedicated space for you, our veterans, to study, congregate, build community, and complete academic coursework. There are separate areas to study (individually or in groups), relax in solitude, play video games (PlayStation 5), have access to CAC enabled computers/printer, and grab a snack/drink. There is a dry kitchen which has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker, and is stocked with coffee, water, soda, and various types of snacks (pop tarts, oatmeal, fruit bars, chips, crackers, etc.) as well as some frozen microwavable options (breakfast sandwiches and hot pockets).
Access to the Vets Lounge is provided to all student veterans on campus using VA educational benefits or not. Currently, the lounge is not accessible to spouses or dependents of veterans due to limited capacity. The lounge is open during normal Baker Center hours and can be accessed with your Ohio University Student ID. If you have issues with your ID card being denied swipe access, please visit us in the Veterans Center in Baker 350 to resolve the issue.
