Description
If you are unable to connect to Wi-Fi or a mobile network on your phone, you can use a one-time password code on the Microsoft Authenticator app to authenticate. Authenticating this way does not require your phone to be connected to a network.

Solution

Any online application requiring your OHIO email and password (Catmail, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.) will present you with a single sign-on screen.

Enter your OHIO email and password.

If prompted to authenticate, select I can’t use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now.

In the Verify your identity
options, select Use a verification code.

On your phone, open the Microsoft Authenticator app.

In your smartphone’s Authenticator app, select your Ohio University account from the main screen.

In the Authenticator app, under one-time password code, you’ll see a six-digit code.

Enter this six-digit code into the single sign-on screen and select the verifybutton.
Outcome:You have successfully authenticated with a one-time password code. You should now be able to access the online service.
