SOX 404 Fellows is a student program in the School of Accountancy that performs control and audit testing of The Ohio University Foundation. It offers hands-on audit experience that can be highly beneficial for internships and jobs in the audit field. It also provides leadership and professional development opportunities as new Fellows start as associates and work their way up to senior associate, manager, and director roles. At the end of the program, the director and managers present their findings to the School of Accountancy Advisory Board.
SOX 404 Fellows earn (1) a scholarship for their work once completed and (2) one hour of academic credit. You do not need to have experience to become a SOX 404 Fellow. You will receive training from leadership during organization meetings and on the job as you complete the work.
To be considered, you have to meet the following requirements:
- You are a sophomore or junior accounting major on the Athens campus.
- You have completed ACCT 1010 by the application deadline, which is during the fall semester each year.
- You must be available during the weekly meeting time during the spring semester.
The application will be emailed to all sophomore and junior accounting majors during the fall semester of each year. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact the Co-Faculty Advisors for the SOX 404 Fellows program below.
