Recreation Management Minor

This minor focuses on the management of leisure services. Recreation management careers are broad-based and include event management, community park and recreation departments, non-profit administration, campus recreation, military recreation, camps, fitness facilities, golf and tennis operations, sports complexes, and many more. The minor requires a minimum of 18 credit hours of coursework to complete and includes classes such as:  

  • Event planning for recreation services 
  • Marketing for recreation services 
  • Recreation programming 
  • Planning and operating recreation areas and facilities 
  • Recreation and leisure in society
  • Concepts and issues in recreation
