Students with a DS-2019 Issued by a Sponsoring Organization
The following information is for students who received a DS-2019 form from an organization other than Ohio University. Examples include Fulbright, LASPAU, IIE, among others. If you do not know who issued your DS-2019 form, find section 2 on the first page. The program sponsor is listed there.
Because Ohio University did not issue your DS-2019 form, we do not have any access to your immigration record in SEVIS. This means we cannot provide you with detailed immigration advice or J-1 visa services. If you have questions about your visa, or need a service such as a travel signature or work authorization, you will need to contact your program sponsor for assistance.
However, ISSS is still here as a resource for you. Below are some of the services we can provide:
- Orientation activities
- Support with cultural adjustment
- Programming
- Assistance with J-2 applications for work authorization
- Visitor invitation letters
Additional information for Fulbright Scholars
Fulbright has a designated advisor for you at Ohio University. Diane Cahill, Director of International Services and Operations, serves in this role. Diane supports international Fulbright students by providing such services as incoming student adjustment support, oversight of third party billing, management of sponsor communication, and coordination of sponsor site visits as well as one-on-one continual counseling throughout the students' time at Ohio University as appropriate.
