The Patton College at Ohio University's online degrees, certificates, and endorsements empower you to advance personally and professionally from the safety and convenience of your own home. 

Our fully online multi-age Computer/Technology Endorsement program prepares licensed K-12 teachers who need to develop online courses, plan to teach computer applications, or want to assume technology coordinator positions. It provides the K-12 teacher with an opportunity to provide instruction in the area of computer literacy and computer education in Ohio classrooms as well as provide distance learning with confidence.

The endorsement includes the following courses:

You may apply these credits to the fully online  Master's Degree in Computer Education and Technology  or the fully online  Instructional Design Certificate . A 50-hour field experience is also part of this program and your program advisor will work with you to identify field experience opportunities that are convenient to you.

Please check out the  Bursar  for the latest information. Please note that as the endorsement is a non-degree program, it is not eligible for federal financial aid. 


Admission

No GRE is required but applicants must hold a valid educators license. Currently, new students may begin this endorsement during fall and spring semesters.

  • The final application deadline for Fall Semester 2024 is August 9 and classes begin August 26, 2024.
  • The first-priority application deadline for Spring Semester 2025 is December 1 and classes begin January 13, 2025. 

Please note: You must pass an Ohio Assessment Exam (Computer/Technology Endorsement 111770, 016/017 Computer/Technology (Subtests I & II)) after you complete your coursework to add the endorsement to your teaching license.
