Library Resources for Languages
The library resources for languages include a comprehensive guide for each of the languages taught in the Department. In addition, instruction sessions are provided to classes on the best methods and sources for research.
African Summer Language Institute
This intensive summer African languages program allows students to earn course credit equivalent to one academic year of instruction. Classes meet 5 hours a day, Monday through Friday, and are taught by native speakers of the respective languages.
English as a Second Language
Ohio Program of Intensive English (OPIE)
The Ohio Program of Intensive English (OPIE) offers English language and cultural training to students, teachers, and others who desire to improve their academic and professional English skills. Additionally, OPIE can custom design programs for sponsored groups. Past participants have included Fulbright scholars, teacher-trainers and business professionals. OPIE faculty members possess advanced degrees, have studied other languages, and have lived outside the USA. OPIE is a member of the prestigious University and College Intensive English Programs (UCIEP) consortium.
English For All
English For All [PDF] provides very affordable English classes and a great learning environment for anyone to study English. No student visa is required.
