---|---|---|
HepB Titer
|
Negative or Equivocal | Repeat the full series: (1) Dose 1. (2) Dose 2, one month after dose 1. (3) Dose 3, five months after dose 2. (4) Re-titer one to two months after dose 3. If second titer is still negative, student is considered a "non-responder". |
MMR A
|
Negative or Equivocal | Repeat (1) both doses four weeks apart or submit to a booster, and (2) re-titer one to two months after the last dose. If second titer is still negative, student is considered a "non-responder". |
Tdap
|
No Hx of Tdap | Must get Tdap regardless of timeframe of last Tetanus. |
Td
|
Prior Tdap is >7-10 years old | Td is required every 7-10 years after a one-time Tdap. |
TB (one-step) upon admission [one injection, followed by readings within 48-72 hours]
|
Positive | Must get (1) chest x-ray and (2) QuantiFERON-Gold or T-Spot blood test. |
TB (one-step) at year 2 [one injection, followed by readings within 48-72 hours]
|
Positive | Must get (1) chest x-ray and (2) QuantiFERON-Gold or T-Spot blood test. |
Varicella
|
Negative or Equivocal | Repeat (1) both doses four weeks apart or submit to a booster, and (2) re-titer one to two months after the last dose. CDC does not recommend testing for immunity following 2 doses of the vaccine. However, many of our sites require a titer, so student will have to repeat the titer prior to patient contact in year 2. In the event a second titer is negative. Recommend a more sensitive measure of VZVspecific IgG (i.e., not commercial VZV ELISA). |
COVID-19 (SARS-COV-2) |
COVID-19 immunization verification of completion of the immunization series (2 doses for Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and 1 dose for Johnson & Johnson vaccine). The COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended for the program. Obtaining the COVID-19 vaccination helps to prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death from the virus. Unique to COVID-19 is the length of isolation and quarantine time should a student be exposed or test positive to COVID-19. This significantly impacts clinical education and learning opportunities. Should a student elect not to obtain the COVID-19 vaccine clinical placements cannot be guaranteed should a clinical site require the vaccination. Vaccines accepted are those that are authorized for use in the United States by the U.S. FDA and recommended by the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) |
A MMR vaccination interacts with TST. The result is typically a false positive. Advise students to complete the Two-Step TST prior to the MMR vaccination/booster.
