The Purchasing Department hosted their second annual Supplier Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Baker University Center Ballroom. 556 attendees had the opportunity to meet and learn more about some of Ohio University’s preferred suppliers. 62 vendors, including 15 representing Ohio University and 47 external vendors, were on hand to share information with OHIO faculty and staff about the goods and services they provide. Vendors present included Grainger, Ohio University Inn, Fastenal, Pepsi, Office Depot, Fisher Scientific and more. Attendees at the “Hawaiian Getaway” themed event enjoyed refreshments, giveaways, and an appearance by Rufus the Bobcat. 73 OHIO employees won raffle items ranging from gift cards and apparel to airline tickets to Hawaii.
“We thank all the vendors for participating and all who attended for taking advantage of the opportunity to connect with OHIO preferred suppliers,” said Diana McGrew, assistant director of strategic sourcing and operations. “I am very proud of our team for putting on a great show. We appreciate the contributions of all of the participants, contributors, and sponsors for helping to make this a net zero cost event to the University.”
Purchasing provides expertise in sourcing and purchasing to OHIO faculty and staff, while helping to reduce risk and ensuring compliance with Ohio Revised Code, other statutes and University policies.
