Ohio University Zanesville and Zane State College are thrilled to announce an inspiring presentation by renowned writer Melody Moezzi. This event will take place on Sept. 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Elson Hall Atrium, located at 1425 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio. This presentation is especially significant as it coincides with World Suicide Prevention Day.
In her talk, Moezzi will share her personal experiences and discuss the challenges individuals face when seeking mental health support. She will shed light on how varying perspectives on mental health can complicate access to appropriate care. Attendees will gain valuable insights into these issues and learn strategies to better support each other.
Moezzi will also explore the barriers and biases encountered by those seeking mental health treatment, emphasizing societal and cross-cultural stigmas as well as the complexities of mental health conditions and treatments. This presentation aims to offer attendees actionable strategies for overcoming these obstacles and fostering a more inclusive approach to mental health care.
