First Time Visit
What to Expect
Please plan to arrive on time – and give us a call if you are running late, need to reschedule, or have to cancel for any reason. Be prepared to answer questionnaires about your current health and your medical history. If you take any medications, bring a list with you of what you take and the dosages. Come with questions! We want this to be a great experience for you – so please ask us questions at any time. Prior to your appointment, remember to get a good night’s rest and have a light breakfast that morning.
Clothing
When coming to the lab for your two sessions, please wear loose-fitting pants and athletic shoes. Please try to wear the same shoes for each lab visit, so that we have more accurate (calibrated) in each subsequent test. Please avoid wearing any face or eye makeup. If you use hair extensions, replacements, integrations, wigs, wiglets, or hairpieces, please leave them at home on the day of your appointment. Your hair should be clean and dry, but please do not use any hair products, including hairspray, gel, foam, color enhancements, sheens, pomades, etc.
Directions and Parking
If using a navigation app, such as Google Maps, our location will be listed as 53 Richland Avenue, Athens, OH 45701. Below is a map indicating certain parking lots that are close to Grover Center. This is where the Akeso Lab is located. Grover Center building is labeled as “WellWorks”. When looking for parking, please find a metered spot. These spots are indicated by the M (Salmon color) on the map. These lots include #120, #134, #132, #128. We recommend reserving your parking spot for 3 ½ hours, which will cost approximately $4.00. Once in Grover Center, you can either take the spiral staircase or elevator to the second floor. Look for the entrance to the Division of Physical Therapy. We will greet you at the entrance at your appointed time. If you arrive early or late, please notify us by calling the lab at 740 593-1044.
